The Childersburg City Council met on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. with the following agenda of items for action:

The Council voted to approve Resolution 2022-44 that Authorizes Richardson Construction to complete a roadway leading to the Childersburg Bike Trails in the amount of $44,000 from Grant #17-RT-54-03.

In other New Business, the Council approved the purchase of three printers for police patrol units in the amount of $3,492. Also approved for the Police Department was enrollment in the 911 Active app for officer cell phones at a cost of $15 each for 14 subscriptions.

Sleeping Giant was approved to install a 5-ton American Standard unit at the Community Center Gym Annex at a cost of $8,153 from the Alabama Trust Fund.

The Council approved the purchase of a batting cage system for the girls softball field from Sports Edge at a cost of $12,462, plus shipping & handling.

Approval was given to advertise with Childersburg Bases Loaded and Softball Boosters in the amounts of $300 per program..

The Council approved contracting with artist Jan Schablow Roberts Baker to repaint the 1st Street mural downtown, at a cost not to exceed $20,000..

Approval was given for payment of invoices in the amount of $320,403.49.

The next regular meeting of the Council will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4th, 2022.

The Childersburg City Council met on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. with the following agenda of items for action:

The Council voted to approve a total of four resolutions on a variety of subjects. They were:

Resolution 2022-33 gave approval to provide necessary funds the ERS for the cost of one-time lump sum payment for eligible city retirees. That total amount is $16,142.

Resolution 2022-34 gave approval for a Fire Department Special Event Fee Schedule.

Resolution 2022-35 approved the Rebuild Alabama Transportation Plan.

Resolution 2022-36 approved an updated Title VI Policy in compliance with federal requirements for transportation services.

In other New Business, the Council appointed Tara Reynolds to the Housing Authority Board with a term expiring 02/03/2023.

A trio of items were approved for the Police Department. Captain Kevin Koss was approved to attend a Loss Control seminar on August 16th in Foley. The registration fee is $30, and he will be allowed to use a City vehicle. The program is administered by AMIC Insurance, which covers Municipal governments.

The department was also approved for the purchase of six Dell laptop computers for police units at a total cost of $11,250. The Council also approved the department purchase of two Stalker radar units for two newly-purchased Ford Explorers at a cost of $3,835, paid from Fund 10.

The Council gave approval for Wesson Companies to install a Yealink telecommunications system at City Hall in the amount of $3,125.97, along with a monthly service fee of $24.95 per telephone station. It was noted that the current City Hall phone system had recently been down for a total of ten days.

Approval was given for Ray & Gilliland to perform a lot survey for the proposed parking lot for a new Police/Judicial Building.

The Council approved a $295 expenditure to advertise in The Daily Home Prep Football Edition 2022, paid from Fund 23.

Approval was given for payment of invoices in the amount of $79,223.19.

The next regular meeting of the Council will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2022.
